In our research, we focus on various protists inhabiting freshwater and marine anoxic sediments. Our team attempts to reveal some of the huge unknown diversity hidden in these oxygen-depleted habitats. With the help of light and electron microscopy, molecular biology and transcriptome analysis we try to answer interesting questions surrounding the peculiar life of anaerobic protists.
